This interactive seminar course will provide a practical overview of the legal issues for employers and employees in contemplating, litigating, prosecuting, and/or defending sexual harassment cases in the wake of the #MeToo movement. In doing so, the course will take students through the life cycle of sexual harassment/assault case from the initial interview of a potential client through trial and/or arbitration. This course will utilize a fact pattern of a fictitious sexual harassment/assault case to present students with the opportunity to advocate for their client throughout the entirety of the litigation process. An initial case packet will be provided and as the course proceeds, supplemental information about the case will be periodically provided to reflect developments in the case as it progresses through pre-litigation negotiations, litigation, and trial. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge of previously covered course material to this evolving hypothetical case.
