    Farmers around the world are being asked to change the way they farm in the face of demographic and environmental pressures. This course uses literatures in Political Science, Human Geography, and Science and Technology Studies to focus on the social sustainability of farm transitions. Using global case studies from the Global North and South, we will explore topics, such as: 1. What is a farming transition? 2. Who is most likely to win and lose from different transition pathways? 3. What do ‘just’ agricultural transitions look like? 4. How can we include farming stakeholders in setting transition pathways? 5. How do we help farming stakeholders make a transition? We will discuss digitalization, emergent agricultural technologies, mental wellbeing in farming, and responsible innovation
