Observing the City: Introduction to Field-Based Analysis

This course offers an introduction to data gathering, analysis and writing methods used in urban studies, planning, sociology, and geography. The class will draw on active learning techniques to build skills in systematic observations in public, visualization, collaborative data collection, concept mapping, analysis, and writing. The course offers student opportunites to apply these methods outside the classroom.
