Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2022-2023.
Covers complex variables, Fourier transforms, Laplace transforms and applications to partial differential equations. Additional topics may include an introduction to generalized functions.
When Offered Fall.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: MATH 2210-MATH 2220, MATH 2230-MATH 2240, MATH 1920 and MATH 2940, or MATH 2130 and MATH 2310. Students will be expected to be comfortable with proofs.
Forbidden Overlaps Forbidden Overlap: due to an overlap in content, students will not receive credit for both MATH 4180 and MATH 4220.
Distribution Category (MQR-AS, SMR-AS)
Comments Undergraduates who plan to attend graduate school in mathematics should take MATH 4180 instead of 4220.
