Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2022-2023.
This course focuses upon the writing of fiction or related narrative forms. May include significant reading and discussion, explorations of form and technique, completion of writing assignments and prompts, and workshop peer review of student work. Many students will choose to write short stories, but excerpts from longer works will also be accepted.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: ENGL 2800 or ENGL 2810.

Satisfies Requirement ENGL 3820 and ENGL 3830 count toward the English major, and either ENGL 3820 or ENGL 3830 is required for the Creative Writing minor.
Comments ENGL 3820 and ENGL 3830 are the same course, the former offered in fall, the latter in spring. Students may take ENGL 3820 or ENGL 3830 more than once with different instructors. Students may not take ENGL 3840, ENGL 4800, or ENGL 4801 in the same semester.
