Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2021-2022.
Learn the basics to get you started with sea kayaking out on the lake. This course covers information about equipment, loading, launching & landing your kayak, exiting and re-entering your kayak in open water, and basic paddling stroke technique. Practice skills in the pool, spend a day paddling out on the lake and participate in a weekend camping trip where you paddle out to a primitive campsite carrying all of you gear in your kayak.
When Offered Fall, Spring.
Fees Course fee: $425 for food/travel and instruction.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: swimming ability.

Instruction Mode: In Person
Drop deadline: September 3rd; Course Fee: $425 The first class meeting will be held on campus at the Helen Newman Pool. Other classes will first meet at Bartels Hall and then travel to other areas around Ithaca, NY. The last class will meet at Bartels Hall and then head to the Adirondacks for the weekend.
