Instruction Mode: In Person
In this literature seminar, we will discuss a suite of conservation controversies. The objective of the class is to encourage students to think critically about contentious conservation issues, as well as the relationship between science, the public, and decision-makers. The class will be divided into four topic modules. Example topics may include: status of global fisheries, conservation triage, monetizing nature, goods, and bad of protected areas, renewable energy.
