The StudioLab Critical Design project team empowers Cornell students across campus to co-design media and IT projects with small organizations working in human rights, healthcare, social justice, transportation, and environmental sustainability in the US and abroad. Transdisciplinary collaboration focuses on critical design thinking, strategic storytelling, experience design, media production, social entrepreneurship, and participatory research. Students gain real world experience practicing human-centered design for multiple stakeholders while creating portfolio projects documenting their work. Current StudioLab partners include Black Farmer Fund, Al-Marsad Golan, Health Access Connect (Uganda), and Cornell’s Center on Death Penalty Worldwide.
