This course is intended to provide students with a more detailed understanding of the critical importance of organizational design and the unique leadership role the Human Resources-function can play in determining successful business outcomes in significant and complex change scenarios. The course will provide a combination of theory, practical application and case studies. The latter includes a global M&A scenario to illustrate the significant opportunities and risks organizations encounter and the critical contribution of the HR function in driving business value. In addition to the technical aspects of organizational design, the course also covers the cultural and human success factors in delivering complex organizational change. The lecture and classroom discussions, exercises, and final paper are intended to help students further strengthen their competencies and knowledge tied to HR strategy, organizational design, globalization, cultural diversity, conceptual and analytical skills, collaboration and executive communication.
