ILRHR 3620

Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2021-2022.

Covers the individual and organizational components impacting the development of both individual career choice & growth and organizational approaches to career management of employees. Two complementary learning tasks help the student integrate theory with practice: 1) information-gathering for individual career decision-making based on self-assessment activities, and 2) comprehension of organizational circumstances and practices encountered as careers develop. Very useful if you are interested in learning key influence factors in personal career choice (your own/others), and/or what underlies organizational approaches in creating career management systems for employees (HR-related).

When Offered Fall, Spring.

Comments Grading is based on involvement with & integration of readings, guest speaker content, reflective self-assessments & short writing assignments, a networking activity, a feedback activity, and a final synthesis assignment.
