Students study private membership clubs and the leadership role in club administration. The application of current management principles in a not-for-profit environment is discussed, and club management is compared to other areas of the hospitality industry and other notfor-profit organizations. Topics include the history and governance of private clubs, tournament, facility, and recreation management; legal, financial, and legislative issues; human resource considerations; and marketing, food and beverage and special events management.

Permission Note Enrollment limited to: SHA students seeking HADM elective credit only. Not open to: freshmen or sophomores.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Corequisite: HADM 3030 for SHA students who wish to receive HADM elective credit.

Satisfies Requirement Satisfies HADM or free electives for SHA students.
