  Course Description
Course information provided by the 2019-2020 Catalog.
This seminar is designed to equip students with the knowledge and expertise to successfully resolve copyright disputes. Seminar content will include case/client selection and evaluation; the elements of a compelling copyright complaint and answer; demonstrating and defending against claims of substantial similarity; navigating through the ever evolving defense of fair use; strategies to enhance or minimize statutory damages; dealing with safe harbor issues under the DMCA; maximizing the opportunities for settlement during copyright litigation and negotiating a case resolution.
