This course will examine the principles of sustainable tourism with strategies that could work anywhere on the globe including urban cities, natural environments and historically significant/preserved locations. As a part of this course, students will work on sustainable tourism projects for stakeholders in Costa Rica. There is a required 8 day practicum trip for students over winter break where they will conduct further research for their projects, perform community service and present their findings to their local stakeholders.  A one credit, seven week course will conclude the work in Costa Rica.

Fees This course requires a practicum trip with a cost of $3,600 per student.
Permission Note Enrollment limited to: graduate students.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Recommended prerequisite: HADM 3550 or other environmental related courses.
