This course provides an overview of the current challenges in the asset management industry and proposes practical solutions to overcome these challenges.  The emphasis will be on addressing real-world investment issues faced by asset owners and asset managers.  Specifically, the class will learn how investors think about risk and return, and delve into actual concepts and tools used by the investment community to address their objectives. Students will get exposure to different asset classes, different client types and different investing styles.  In addition, students will debate the practical issues of turning theory into practice, from idea generation to research to portfolio implementation. This course is co-taught with an adjunct practitioner working in quantitative finance.
