This is a survey course of the law governing tax-exempt organizations in the U.S. It primarily focuses on federal tax law and on Section 501(c)(3) organizations, but related concepts and New York law will be discussed when relevant. Together with a review of the relevant code sections and regulations, this class will include discussion of real-world issues facing practitioners.
