Course Description

A seminar course with a practicum in management and operation of a campus-based, student-led social enterprise, Anabel's Grocery. Anabel's Grocery is a nonprofit project of the Center for Transformative Action that addresses food insecurity at Cornell by providing fresh, nutritious and affordable food, as well as educational programs on healthy and nutritious eating.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Anabel's Grocery Team.

- Apply basic best practices in the governance, management and assessment of a nonprofit social venture.
- Demonstrate relevant best practices at the intersections of design, wellness, hospitality, and food delivery, with a focus on community, accessibility and equity.

- In a setting where success requires effective teamwork, interact and work collaboratively with diverse peers, with a higher level of self-awareness and empathy.

Additional Information
Prerequisite: Acceptance to the Anabel's Grocery Team. Students are expected to do 5 hours a week of field study/practicum in Anabel's Grocery store.
