Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2015-2016.
Students learn in the vineyard, teaching winery, laboratory, and on a winery field trip. Includes practice of techniques relevant to growing grapes, making and evaluating wines, and writing scientific papers.
When Offered Fall.
Permission Note Enrollment preference given to: Viticulture and Enology majors and minors.
Outcomes
- Identify parts of a grapevine.
- Monitor grapes during ripening stage and relate ripening to chemical changes in the grape.
- Demonstrate some winemaking, laboratory, and wine evaluation techniques.
- Complete a scientific research paper, demonstrating improved critical evaluation and scientific writing skills.
