Course Description

Undergraduate seminar. Topic: Aeneas and Anna: The puzzling relationship between Aeneas and Dido's sister Anna. A reading of Latin of Virgil's Aeneid 4 along with excerpts from Ovid (Metamorphoses and Fasti) and Silius Italicus' Punica 8, plus various other ancient accounts (in translation) touching on their association.
