Course Description
Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2015-2016.
This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of research, design, and management of teams whose work and interactions are influenced by technology. Key questions that are addressed include: How does technology influence teamwork? How do we design technology to support teamwork? How do we build effective teams and team interactions for teams that work face to face or online? To address these questions the course will draw primarily from literature in organizational behavior, social psychology, design and human computer interaction. Group exercises will be used to actively build teamwork and team-leadership skills. Topics will include group effectiveness, human robot teamwork, group composition, computer supported collaboration, conflict, group dynamics, temporal issues in groups, geographically distributed teams, and measurement issues of group dynamics and performance.
