BIOEE 2525

BIOEE 2525

Course information provided by the Courses of Study 2015-2016.

This field course is designed to provide students with a broad and integrated understanding of Neotropical ecology, behavioral ecology, conservation, and evolutionary biology. This will be achieved by first exposing students to the primary literature on these topics and subsequently giving them the opportunity to conduct independent field--based research. This will allow students to become familiar with the scientific process, from designing questions and posing hypotheses to collecting and analyzing data. Students will integrate their conceptual understanding of these fields with their own research experience by learning how to write research papers. The on-campus course will be followed by a field component in coastal Patagonia, a rich setting that provides unprecedented access to both marine and terrestrial wildlife as well as conservation challenges.

When Offered Fall, spring (multi-semester).
