Fundamentals of optical instrumentation and imaging systems for biomedical microscopy, spectroscopy, and bioanalytical techniques. The course covers the theory and application of optical design, light microscopy and fluorescence techniques, concepts such resolution, image deconvolution, interference, and a practical look at how use components such as lenses, mirrors, lasers, optical fibers, and photodetectors, to build biomedical optical systems.
