Learn basic rock climbing skills on real rock! We'll spend a glorious weekend climbing, camping, and relaxing at Minnewaska State Park in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. We will cover climbing equipment and technique, knots, belaying, rappelling, and natural history. As always, an instructor-to-student ratio of 1:4 ensures lots of personal attention and climbing time. NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

When Offered Fall, Spring.

Fees Course fee: $395 for instruction/travel and food.

Satisfies Requirement Satisfies one PE requirement if taken as PE.

  • Instruction Mode: In Person
    Course Fee: $395. Includes all climbing equipment and group camping gear (tents, stoves, etc.). The first class will meet on campus in Bartels Hall, room B01 then head up to the Lindseth Climbing Center, also in Bartels Hall. The second class will meet at the Lindseth Climbing Center. Transportation is provided for classes off campus.
    Drop Deadline: Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Students will be responsible for the course fee and assessed a $50 late drop fee if they do not drop by the deadline.
