In this course, former Rep. Steve Israel will explore how political campaign communications influence and motivate voters; how political messaging has evolved along with television and social media platforms; and how popular culture, expresses in film and television, has changes its treatment of the American political process.  The course will consider the role of emotion in influencing voters and include several segments discussing contemporary issues "behind the scenes" on Capitol Hill.
